I have used a variety of rice cookers, including affordable Aroma and Tiger cookers, mid-range Zojirushi, and premium Korean brand like Cuckoo. This was my first time to try out the Cuchen brand, so I was a bit unsure. In fact my acquaintance advised me for another Cuckoo. Now after using this rice cooker for 2 months, I absolutely love it.(1) This cooker is still affordable for being a premium rice cooker. With a special deal during the Black Friday sale period, it was even cheaper than Zojirushis. Perhaps it is because this cooker does not offer all the tricky and complicated cooking modes which no one will ever use and which definitely will trigger maintenance issues later on. This cooker is rice-focused, and I think this strategy plays out well.(2) The color (gold rose) is aesthetically pleasing.(3) The inner pot’s coating and design are really good. The pot’s “dyking” coat is durable and rice never sticks. Its edge-shaped design seems to help the rice steamed thoroughly, evenly, and fast.(4) I know nowadays a lot of well known brands like Cuckoo and Zojirushis are made in China. This is Korean made, which speaks for its build quality.(5) Quality of the cooked rice: I never tried long grain rice with this cooker. As for short grain rice, this cooker produces incredibly delicious rice. The sticky rice mode is the best. I literally emptied a bowl of sticky rice without any soup or side dish. The rice was so juicy, chewy, and sweet. I almost tasted umami.Overall, this is a great product. The only regret I have now is why I did not purchase this cooker five years ago when this model first came out.

It was a good looking product but the rice made was dried little too quick for me…I like moisture and sticky rice for my meals all time!

These days some of the best rice cookers are being made in Korea and Cuchen is actually a very well known brand in Korea. The rice cooker is made extremely well and the technology that they use makes the rice come out perfect every time. Now, I mainly cook sticky rice so for me at least, this rice cooker was dead on and made the perfect sticky rice every time. To be honest, I haven’t tried it for anything else other than to cook rice so I’m not sure how it does with other foods. I know that you can use it as a pressure cooker and such but I’ve never tried it. All I now is that for cooking sticky rice, this rice cooker is one of the best.

This combination rice cooker/pressure cooker performs superbly. Rice comes out perfect every time, and there are a number of adjustments you can make for how dry or sticky you like the rice, as well as cooking other kinds of rice (like brown rice or porridge). In addition, this can be used to make soup, steamed vegetables, and even braised short ribs (some recipes are included in the manual). The manual is comprehensive and clear, which is important, because this cooker has quite a few functions. There are spoken voice notifications (available languages are English, Chinese, and Korean), but these can be turned off. It’s a little bulky — about the same width as a typical rice cooker, but deeper (looks oval from the top), so be aware of this if you have limited counter space. It can make up to 10 cups of rice at a time — more than enough for a family of 4 or 5. The cooking pot is very easy to clean, as is the upper inside cover. It’s a bit pricey, but comparable to other similar cookers with all of these functions. Excellent product!

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this large-capacity pressure rice cooker because it offered so many features. I was concerned it was too big for two people but it’s not if you eat rice often. It took me a while to test this because it came with a big instruction manual and took time to read (it’s worth it). I also was a little timid about using it because it’s a pressure cooker and I never used a fancy pressure rice cooker before. However, once you know what’s going on and get over the first time-used hurdle, it’s easy to use and rewards you with some pretty tasty rice! The rice I made was one of the tastiest brown rice batches I’ve ever eaten! This baby comes with many preprogrammed rice modes, including a brown rice button. You can see the results of my “sticky brown rice” in my photo, something we enjoy in my household (that’s what 2 cups of dry brown rice looks like once it’s cooked into sticky brown rice, something we like). The manual is a little disorganized, but it does thoroughly cover the steps needed. First thing was getting the unit to talk to us in ENGLISH, not Korean or Chinese. Once I found those instructions, I easily changed the language setting and upped the voice volume. You really don’t need the voice, but it does warn you of certain modes starting, such as the steam-releasing mode. The rice cooker has an easy “mode” dial so you can set your rice-cooking choice. It then counts down digitally (see my photos), plus it releases the pressure as part of the preprogrammed mode. I like that you can also pre-set a future cooking time and rice mode as well as Auto-Clean, which helped make clean up a lot faster.I was very impressed with the quality of the pressure rice cooker. It’s well-made, sizeable, and good-looking. My hand in one of my photos gives you a sense of scale. The cooker needs an unobstructed space to operate (not under a cabinet). I like the inner pot’s special nonstick Dyking finish. This rice cooker is somewhat similar in principle (in my observation) to an Instant Pot type of device as they both are pressure cookers, this one with a focus on making rice exactly as desired. A small recipe book, a plastic measuring cup, and serving utensil accompany the pressure rice cooker. The recipes include some foods (mainly rice-based dishes accompanied by other foods) that can be cooked in this appliance. I’m very excited to keep experimenting with different rice types and settings. I hope this is helpful information.

If you have been annoyed that your rice is too mushy or too dry then look no further this Cuchen rice cooker is game changing. I love how as soon as you plug in your device the Korean audio starts and when you begin cooking your rice it says “Rice cooking will start” it’s so cute. I love how the 6 cup rice bowl is idea for my smaller needs since I live along, but still good enough for an additional 2 or 3 people in terms of cooking portions. After cooking the rice there is an auto clean function that clean out the bowl and device and you just gotta do smaller maintenance. I love how there are multiple functions that are available from standard rice to porridge as well. The manual is great and has so much key information and is also in english as well.

I’ve used this a few times so far, and first impressions are great. The instructions were well-written and easy to follow, and the voice feature is a welcome, if slightly unnecessary, addition. The rice cooker knows how much you have and how long it’s going to take and calibrates itself accordingly. I haven’t tried the “preset” feature yet, but I’ve got no reason to think it’ll be a failure. I doubt I’ll be using that particular function a lot anyway. The cooker is very easy to clean and maintain, and the self-cleaning feature is great. The actual rice pot is very well made, with clear lines showing you how much rice/water you need to add.I do question the price a bit, though. I know rice cookers aren’t like crock pots and they have several sensors and functions they need to do besides heat something up. That being said, it does seem a bit expensive. Perhaps the company will lower the price in the future, but this is definitely in the “luxury” category for me.

Works great. Cooks a huge amount of rice which is just what we needed for sushi night. Super easy to use, tons of settings that make cooking the rice a snap.

This is an awesome machine! So many different options to get the rice you want and enjoy. It is a pretty simple set up and everything is good to go. Cool little voice feature, many different recipes to try so you won’t get bored. The machine itself is easy to clean also which is a very big deal for me.
