I needed this to replace a unit that was out of date. This was easy to install. Also, it has the date printed on it to replace it.

One device out of 5 was set and it started going off. Had to press the test button a couple of times before it was set properly.

Nice item, easy to install

These are really nice smoke detectors. The supplies with it are: a magnetic two part metal piece with sticky tape on both sides. Plastic bracket that slides into the back. A packet of wall hardware. I used the magnetic piece to stick it to the wall, however you need to put the plastic bracket in it even with this piece to give it a broader sticking area or it will fall off continually. Once I put the plastic bracket in, it has stayed on the wall. You can also just use the wall hardware and screw the bracket into the wall, then twist the smoke detector onto the bracket, this also works well. I also included a picture of the indicator light that flashes about every 30 secs, which tells you that it is on and working. The alarm is loud when it goes off. The front can be pressed in and it will give a beep to tell you that it is working.

The smoke detector combo is decked out with features, I tested first with some light smoke from a cocktail smoker and I was extremely impressed with the sensitivity, It took a very small amount of smoke to set the alarm off which is always good in terms of safety with a smoke detector. About 1 second of holding the button down silence the alarm for 8 minutes and gives you an audible voice message that it is doing so. Then I tested it with heavier smoke within the 8 minutes to see what happens (from the cocktail smoker kit) and wouldn’t you know it after a couple seconds the alarm went off again however this time it would not let me silence the alarm and it gave off a clear audible message in English that the smoke was too significant to silence the alarm. I consider this a huge plus especially if you have kids that are able to turn off the alarm to try to hide the alarm sounding from an adult. After clearing the smoke you are able to easily turn off the beeping again and I absolutely love how it tells you the history of how many times the alarm has occurred before. The CO function works as well and it even gives you an audible PPM reading of the air. I absolutely love how during the testing phases it seems to be extremely thorough depending on what the detector deems necessary. Even if the PPM levels are too low to sound the alarm off then it will still give you an audible readout of the CO PPM values in the air. If you are the type of person that will use a broom handle to silence this alarm then there is a very slight recess on the reset button and it is of very nicely considerable size so you don’t have to try to hard to aim for the button. I really like how this detector runs on two double A’s instead of a 9 volt because they are much cheaper and readily available. You could even take the batteries out of your remote to get you by for a few days if necessary. Mounting is super easy and the hardwire feature is a must and comes with everything you need to do so if you already have a spot pre-wired for hard wiring. Please take note that for the CO detector function and the smoke detector function to work equally as well in conjunction with each other than you need to mount this product about halfway up the wall because smoke rises but CO is heavier than air so it falls. Some would argue that it is better to have separate detectors so you can mount the smoke detector high and the CO detector low however in my particular application I like this simplicity and the minimalistic look as well as less batteries in one less device to be concerned about keeping up with. I can hardly recommend this detector combo and I don’t believe one can really go wrong with it unless you are a heavy smoker or vapor; This detector is extremely sensitive so definitely either blow the smoke away from the detector or cover it with a nice bright bag so you don’t forget to uncover it with a huge rubber band so you can just pull the plastic bag off when you are done smoking or vaping around it. 5 stars All Day!!!
