I read a few negative reviews about connectivity and print quality. I can say that I set up my printer, using the app to review videos and connect to WI-FI and it took around 30 minutes. No muss, no fuss, and then I went to the website to download drivers for my laptop and that took around 10 minutes. The printing is slow for photos, but the quality is so good (clear, great color saturation and no graininess) that I do not mind the wait. The print time for documents was really fast. I understand that the ink cartridges that come with the unit are just to get you started, so I ordered replacements, so I will be ready when the starter ones run dry.My only complaint is that the description does not say what version of ink it takes. So when the suggestion to buy ink with the unit came up, I said yes. The ink came first. But it was the wrong kind of ink and I did not know until the printer came in the mail.I am able to return it for a full refund, but it would be nice if that info was listed with the printer. All in all, I am very pleased.

You’re not here looking at this printer because you have some special job/ purpose. You need to get whats on your screen onto some paper so you can turn it over to an Employer, Teacher, or Government entity. Well congratulations you’ve found it. This is the printer that checks the box, it prints color just fine, black and white too. If you need an emergency photo on glossy paper it’ll do and no one outside of the photography business will be any the wiser.Want to know why I’m here? I’m here because Epson will not print black and white when the Cyan cartridge is empty. I found this printer for $50. Not sure what it is for the endearing reader of this review but you can be assured I was not about to spend that exact amount to refill my Black+Color Epson ink cartridges.Although I cannot yet speak as to whether the printer will print in black and white with a depleted color cartridge. I have had cannon printers in the past that have. Even being able to print my documents in color ink when black ran out in a pinch. I’ll keep you informed on that when the time comes. So let’s boil it down. Yes, it works and it works well for your College students and Households NOT Offices (if you want an Office printer get any Laser Printer and you’ll be fine.) It’s not fast, it gets the job done well, easily, and reliably.

I do much research and use Wikipedia as a starting point, so I print a lot of information. In the inevitability that my current iteration will eventually give up the ghost, I bought a spare.the printer I ordered has not arrived as of 3 days later. sad emoji

I haven’t fully used this yet, I haven’t tested the Fax and Scanning fully, but it’s a nice printer. Color for cheat sheets is good and sharp, for instance. There is a little setup, two drivers for Linux to install, and you want to manage your firewall in Linux with it, and your local IP with your router, but it works flawlessly once you figure those out, very lovely product. My beloved (other brand) 15 year old laser printer stopped feeding sheets (I’m trying to fix it) so I had to get something, and figured color might be useful. Ink Jet printers are expensive with ink, but the refill I am using works well with initial tries.Works great with phone wirelessly, and Linux and Windows boxes (haven’t tried Mac), and works with my laptop just as well as my desktop (both Linux) wirelessly. You have to figure out and connect using the settings (the settings are a little difficult to figure out on the printer itself) to establish what assigned local IP is assigned and then install the printer and scanner drivers and open your firewall, and badda boom, it’s good to go!. (linux is more explicit and controllable than Windows and as such, an ounce of setup is worth a ton of cure). I’ve only used this on Debian based versions so far, FWIW.It doesn’t seem to use much power if left on, which is great, too.

We had a similar printer for our home for 5+ years (a Canon). Purchased this as it took same ink, had similar functions, and is very easy to set up and use.

I called support to help me get a paper that was stuck in the back of the printer. I ended up with foreigns guys telling me I needed to have my computer checked. I thought they were part of the canon support staff. They did make my computer run better but charged me $199 for on year subscription. After all that they told me to flip the printer on its side and open the back to pull the paper out. I won’t be calling Canon support anymore. I wasn’t totally screwed but was not happy with how things turned out.

The printer works great. I haven’t had any issues with paper jams like some people. The paper tray doesn’t hold as much as my previous HP printer. Maybe people try to put too much paper in it and that’s why they get a paper jam. I read many reviews about setting up this printer. I wanted to make sure that I followed the instructions. I opted to set it up on my computer rather than with the QR Code thinking that it would synch the computer and printer during the process. I typed in the address and as it popped up there was a listing that had set up after the suggested URL. I believe I clicked on that. DON’T do that. It is a scam website pretending to be Canon. They tried to get me to pay for a tech support contract. I know that this isn’t Canon’s fault and it really doesn’t have anything to do with the printer itself. However, I wanted to bring it to people’s attention because the person I dealt with was very good at trying to convince me to pay for their service. That he was employed by Canon. While he was on the phone I checked the exact web address in the instructions and the screen was completely different. Use the EXACT web address in the instructions if you are setting this printer up through a computer and not with the QR Code.

Ok, I was a little skeptical of getting this printer considering all of the bad reviews that were in the foreground. However, I’m so glad I purchased this little printer! I use it to print artwork for my Etsy shop and the quality is outstanding! I really like this printer, it’s got so many different features, from fax, scanning, copying, you name it. And the wireless aspect of it is awesome too! Makes for one less cord draping across my floor. Many buyers said that the wireless connection part was the worst part about the printer, but, I set mine up in a breeze. You just have to have a little know-how in tech to accomplish this. I recommend going to Canon’s website and downloading the latest driver for the printer prior to setup. It helped me a ton. My computer picked up this printer instantly and connected without issues. My iPad also connected to it without problems. So, ignore the crumby reviews and go for it. I’ve had a great experience with this versatile printer so far. Highly recommend it!

Okay, so this wasn’t hard to set up, but you do need to follow the instructions. This isn’t a printer you can just plug in and start printing. I’ve noticed a lot of bad reviews because some people can’t figure out why the printer can’t detect the paper you’ve loaded, but there’s a reason.if you’re getting the load paper message, even though you’ve loaded paper into the tray, and can’t figure out why, it’s because the paper tray pulls out so you can load paper in it, but it can also tell if you didn’t push the tray back into the printer. The printer has a sensor just for the tray. It cannot reach the paper unless you push the tray back in, giving you the load paper message.Beyond that, everything works fine with the printer. Wifi for the printer took a little thinking, but not too hard. Print quality is average, but that’s expected for a low priced printer. It is kind of loud, but it’s a printer. What did anyone expect? It’s not going to be quiet.
