I’ve had this 14oz mug for about a month. Several family members have the Ember mug and all have positive things to say. They are each avid coffee/tea drinkers and have owned their Ember mugs for over a year.Having hot liquid stay hot is a game changer for me. Setup is super simple through the app.My only complaint would be that I would like the mug to go to 160 degrees – I like my food and drinks really hot.I had gotten the Ember mug while visiting relatives out of state. When I returned home after the holidays, I wanted a second mug for my wife. The deal that I got on the Ember at Xmas was no longer available, so I ordered a competitors mug (NextMug). I wondered about 2 things that were different about the NextMug vs. the Ember. The NextMug doesn’t need an app to set up and it is advertised as keeping liquid at 155 degrees, which appealed to me.I received the NextMug and used it a few days. The fact that it has buttons on the side of the mug v. using no app did not enhance my experience. The advertised increased temperature of the NextMug did not materialize. In fact, the NextMug failed to hold a warm temperature consistently. After several days, I returned the NextMug and ordered another Ember mug to replace it. The new Ember mug has worked just like the 1st one and now wife and I each have our own. I also ordered a second charging tray for the Ember mug so that it charges at my preferred coffee chair in our home.Overall, very happy with the Ember experience.

I tried out Ember, Nextmug and a coffee cup warmer. I chose Ember and here’s why:(For context I am a busy mom and I drink one cup of coffee per day. I tend to sip on that cup all morning long. I like to bring it around the house with me, often settling in one area for long periods (like to do a craft or do computer).I chose the Ember mug and here’s why not the others:1) The warmer- I couldn’t bring the mug around the house with me, it had to always stay on the warmer. Also, as I drank the coffee down, it got hotter and hotter (less to heat). I had to keep turning the warmer down. Twice I forgot I left the warmer on and left the house and it stayed on all day. The warmer was also very hard to clean if you got a ring on it because it gets baked on. Literally I could not get the ring stain off. Lastly, the coffee tastes super gross after a few hours. Not sure why…but the heat from the bottom does something to it.2) Nextmug – I didn’t like the shape of the mug. It looks deep but actually half of the mug is the heating element so it’s not deep. Mine kept shutting off randomly, like within 10 mins of setting it, maybe it was defective? It also seemed to get hotter as the liquid became less like the warmer did.3) Ember – immediately I could see the temp on the app as soon as the liquid hit the cup, which I thought was NEAT! It turns its self on automatically when the coffee is put in it and goes to the last setting you set it at. It keeps it at that exact temperature regardless of how much is left in the cup (yay!). Thus it never overheats the coffee and the coffee stays delicious. I can take it all around the house and it is sturdy, looks cool and is nice and deep. It does shut off a lot sooner (from inactivity) than others, BUT it heats back up again surprisingly quick, so I’ll take it.Others have voiced connectivity issues. I have an iphone14 pro and it hasn’t had any trouble yet, but I just got it.For the record I was hoping I could control it via the app even when I wasn’t home (like turn it on and off remotely) but it doesn’t work that way. Since it’s bluetooth and not wifi controlled you have to be near it for it to work.Good luck friends!

If you like your coffee to stay hot, this mug is genius and really works well! Not sure how it really accomplishes it, but once the mug is charged on its separate charger, it will keep its contents hot for hours. Only minor negative is that it must be hand washed. Fantastic item!

I was skeptical to buy this mug, worried about some of the issues posted here. But the concept was exactly what I was looking for. I drink my coffee slowly throughout the morning, and before having my Ember mug, I would microwave my cup of coffee 3-4 times before finishing it. I’ve been using the Ember mug almost every day since buying it more than 3 years ago. It works absolutely perfectly. Keeps my coffee the perfect temp for me (I have it set to 136F). I haven’t had a single issue with anything—it charges, holds it charge, and the mug itself looks like it did the day I got it. I do take good care of it but my co-worker has one and she takes very bad care of it and hers is still working perfectly as well. Highly recommend this mug.

I got this as a gift for the holidays and I’m obsessed. It sits on my desk at work and when I get stuck in long meetings or conversations my coffee/tea stays perfect temperature. Also prevents me from burning myself because I can see at a glance if it’s still too hot or if it’s at the right temperature. It’s a bit pricey, and I’d avoid leaving anything with milk in it for too long (as you’re basically heating milk over time which isn’t the most pleasant thing) but otherwise it’s pretty much perfect.

I started looking at Embers in 2020 when I started working from home. I just couldn’t justify spending $150 for a coffee cup, and ended up buying a coffee warmer instead. And while there is nothing wrong with my $20 coffee warmer…it sits in my home office, and that is not the only place I drink coffee. I really wanted to be able to enjoy a hot cup of coffee anywhere.I finally bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier! It works as advertised and stays charged for about 1.5 hours. The mug, itself, is beautiful and feels great in your hand. The only negative thing I would report about this product (which really isn’t a big deal for me) is that it does take several hours to fully charge. So, if you do run the battery down, it’s going to take several hours before you can really use it and walk away from the charger for any length of time again.I ended up buying a second charger, so I can have one upstairs in my office, and one downstairs. At the end of the work day, I wash it out, and leave it charged downstairs. Chargers are highly portable, so if I’m sipping away on a leisurely weekend day, I just move the charger to where I am hanging out.Highly recommend.

Have used it about a month and love it! Got the rose gold and very pretty. Gave 2 of the larger ones to family – white and copper (cuz didn’t have large rose gold) and they both love theirs as well. I haven’t used the app cuz the temp is just fine for me. It occurred to me that maybe people were having trouble with it unpairing if they let the battery drain to completely off? You can turn it off by pushing the button on the bottom when not in use – hopefuly that would help, and we recharge after every use. One thing to get used to is that you expect the drink to be cooler after 15 minutes or whatever in a regular mug but it isn’t! (in a good way of course, that’s the point, but it does take a little getting used to funnily enough). My sister pointed out that she has another one as well with travel top so that would be good if Ember has that too but for home use this is perfect.

This is my 4th attempt at some type of coffee heater. Love this so much, it’s what I gave to entire family and friends for Xmas . My fav is the copper, high quality materials and works so good. Charging base is small and fits easily on side table.Copper is my favorite.Wish they would say that any color, other than copper, is a plastic . Not a fan. My recommendation is to purchase the copper.I wasn’t aware either that an app HAS to be downloaded, again not a fan. In fact, cup sat for 6wks while I pondered if I would even do that. I’m tired of everything being on a darn smart phone to use ! I read the data collection info, they send to apple your usage and monitor your “caffeine intake “! So buyer beware, not even a heated coffee cup is safe from data collection and dare I say, monitoring and spying on your coffee consumption!Other than that, love this copper cup.

We picked up a couple of these mugs for Black Friday and we’re ecstatic about them. We’ve used them every day for multiple drinks a day. Ember solves a real problem and is one of the very few non-gimmick smart products on the market today. Our friends ask why not a thermos? With a thermos it’s true, some can keep your drink close to the temperature you put them in at for a very long time. This is great if you’re saving a drink or soup for later in the day and preparing it in the morning. However, when you want to drink your beverage or soup right away, using a thermos causes you to constantly juggle how you drink it as it will be too hot for a long time and suddenly sit at a less than desirable temperature. Ember solves this problem keeping your drink at the perfect drinking temperature for hours. If you’re thinking of buying one, and the price is off-putting, wait for a good sale and pull the trigger. Gone are my days of rushing to drink my coffee “while it’s still hot”. I can prepare multiple drinks for the family and not worry about my own.

I was given a gift card for my birthday to buy one of these. The person that gifted me the gift card has one of these Ember Temp control mugs and I mentioned that it was an interesting concept. I LOVE mine! No more cold coffee at my desk when I get busy and can’t drink it. So nice to come back to a hot cup of coffee! I love the grey on that I got, would have liked the copper colored one but the price was too high on same that just for a color change.
