I have no option but to use something like this because I have a dangerous drop off on one side of my 2-story house (no room for a ladder). I read reviews saying they could not get the robot to work, but it actually works quite wonderfully if you follow these tips! I read tips online, then did a bit of trial and error. It’s quite easy! I live in the desert, so my windows get very dusty, then a light rain congeals the dust into a nasty glue. I do also get pigeon poop, but if you have certain other types of dirt stuck to your window, maybe it won’t work well for you. I would think anyone can get much cleaner windows with this robot, and I am definitely picky, but you need to pay someone if you can’t deal with the small imperfections like dusty corners (round pads do not clean square corners).1) Lightly wet only the bottom pad. Leave the top one dry. If you have a really nasty spot, I take a stick and a wet rag and scrub just that spot, then run my robot. Usually no spot cleaning is necessary, even with pigeon poop baked on at 115 degrees. If your robot is sliding down the window, you have overwet the pad. (One reviewer was quite angry about this, but the instructions clearly state not to overwet! Two less saturated passes work beautifully and you can do something else while the robot works, so it doesn’t matter if it takes twice as long.)2) If your windows are pretty dirty, after one pass, move the dry top pad to the bottom, put a fresh dry pad on the top, and repeat step 1 on the same window.3) If your windows are large, grab your robot when it’s halfway done, unstick it, lightly re-spray the bottom pad, and let it finish. Most important tips are keep the pads very clean, switch them out often, and double-clean each window, which eliminates all streaks for me. The first pass washes, I use even less spray the second pass and it buffs the windows until shiny, and they look beautiful. I use a dilute self-mixed organic window cleaner (mixed with mostly water), so straight Windex may also be too slippery. I wouldn’t know. But I would guess dilute vinegar with water would work well.I bought double the pads (24 total) and I only do about 6 windows, inside and out, in a session (fewer if they’re really dirty), before I have to wash all the pads. I run the robot while I’m deep-cleaning that part of the house. If you have lots of windows and want to finish them all in one day, you’ll need lots of pads because they need to be very clean and dry. I rotate through the house and clean each window every 2-3 months as maintenance, so my windows are always clean.I couldn’t be happier! It’s much cheaper than paying someone to do it and my windows are much cleaner because I can afford to wash them often.

The media could not be loaded. I never write reviews. This deserves your consideration. Just look at the four pictures and video that I uploaded. this was my first use and it was extremely easy to figure it out. One time it did slip a bit but it was totally a test because I sprayed the bottom pad more than recommended just so I could see what it would do when it was at arm level. it did slip a little bit but all I did was push it up and kind of help it move up the window a little bit and it took off all on its own. The results speak for The instructions although not detailed are clear and easyThe instructions although not detailed are clear and easy to follow and I am extremely impressed with how well this little guy has cleaned our windows. In addition it comes with 12 cleaning pads so you can switch them out frequently and get a lot of windows done before you have to wash them. in one of the pictures you can see that I hadn’t changed the pads out in about four windows and it created kind of a swirly look on the window. Even with that it’s much much better than the layers of dirt that was there before!UPDATE: I have been using this for the last couple months and it is still great. If you see any residue, it means you need to put clean pads on. I typically will run it until I see that, and pop on new ones.

When I received Gladwell Gecko Robot Window Cleaner and have read a manual that came along with it, I noticed in the list of features the following: “For glass thicker than 6 mm”.I was going to use this Gecko Robot for cleaning windows in my home and my home, as the most residential houses, has windows with glass thickness much less than 6 mm (in my case – 3 mm). I did not want to brake a glass in my new windows. My first thought was to return a device, but then I decided to ask a seller (I do not have a manufacturer contact info). My first time asking whether device is suitable for my 3 mm thick glass was not answered. I just kept receiving probably auto-generated emails form seller: “Hello, …, thanks for buying our Robot Window Cleaner. We hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you have any questions!”. When I repeated my question, I got the following answer: “Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee that it will work on glass surfaces with less than 3 mm thickness.”I have told them that I have 3 mm thick glass (not “less than 3 mm”!) in my windows. So, it formally looked like they confirmed a possibility to use it for my windows, but the form of their answer was crying that they were really not sure.I was close to return the device, but then I decided to take a risk and try it.It worked fine. I cleaned several windows (the largest glass size – 5’ x 4’, thickness – 3 mm). Cleaning quality was quite good. I am satisfied with it!I would recommend this product.

This is perfect for sliding glass doors. Especially at our condo that had screens. No more trying to get my hand in between window & screen & busting my knuckles cleaning windows. This even reaches the corners. Easy to use inside and out.

I bought this machine as we have a lot of large windows to clean, and some old fashioned casement windows in high and difficult to reach areas that literally never got properly cleaned. The former residents had to rely on a window cleaning services for help. On the first day I expected a learning curve with suction problems. However the machine literally never dropped, I used my families’ tried and true window washing mix, moistened the lower pad with it and squeezed out the leftover moisture. That all worked. When a window was too dirty, I went over it twice. On the first day I did half of our windows and terrace doors. The next day I did our shower enclosures and shower tiles, which also worked well. Actually the casement windows are smaller and don’t work as well, and with mirrors, check that they are not too thin. What might need improvement is that the first row starts with a dry wheel and the cycle ends with a wet wheel on the bottom row. Expect to work after the machine then. Either go over the first row again which may be still not washed well, with a wet pad and don’t forget to dry off the wet spot the lower wheel left before liftoff. Otherwise you surely will see it when it dries up and the sun shines through it, or likewise when you use the shower and the steam reveals the wheel traces.

I was more than a bit leery about ordering this, but decided to take a chance. My sunroom faces the lake and has a beautiful view – – but only if the windows are clean! Unfortunately, they are high enough off the ground that washing the outside of the windows is a pain! I mean, the bottom pane of the window tilts in so that isn’t a problem, but the top is fixed.I put Gecko to work on the outside and I cleaned the insane. I saw some streaks and started to get disappointed – – until I noticed the streaks were on the INSIDE where I had cleaned! So glad I took a chance!

Tips – sometimes the Gecko thinks it’s done earlier than you think it should be and sits there. Remember if you want it to keep cleaning just press start on the remote. Also, while you can spritz a bit lightly on the window and the bottom pad, don’t overdo this, it does not need a lot of water to do it’s job and too much water can interfere with it’s suction. While not perfect (and it can’t get corners) it still cleaned windows in a streak free manner better than I ever have, plus I can do something like cook while it’s cleaning and just move it around to a new window when I have a break. Nice price point to experiment with this and glad I got it. So far so good.Operation – put on window, press start button on the robot, this will start suction. Then press start button on your remote to actually start the robot. Start is usually all that’s necessary however if you want to move the robot in a specific direction use the arrow buttons.

The media could not be loaded. I am totally blown away by this window cleaner Gecko Robot. I own about 6 robots which vacuum, sweep, and mop my floors. Some work well and others are totally disappointment.I was very skeptical when I found this on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. I was curious on how well this would work and was not confident on the cleaning results. To my surprise the Gecko Robot window cleaner knocks it out of the park. My 10ft sliding doors look fantastic and it even would with arch windows. I didn’t have any sliding problem like others, and I sparingly sprayed window cleaner on the windows and pad. I even tried it on the shower door and shower tile walls with no problem. I will try it on counter top later today and see how it work out.Final words, the Gecko Robot works and works well. This is definitely a KEEPER!

I have 5 wall mirrors in my great room. They are 3.5 X 8.5 ft. each . I’ve lived here 3 years now and have procrastinated cleaning them. I also have 3 sliding glass doors. After a little research on robotic window washers, I chose this one. My choice for this one was the reputation of the seller and the product review. Ironically enough the Gecko was one of the least expensive of all the robotic window washers. The day I received the Gecko, I put it to work on the mirrors. I couldn’t believe how fantastic the came out. Next day, I did the sliders. I am astonished at the results. The sliders even have a film coating on the inside. If you hate cleaning glass, this is for you. If you are in a hurry, forget about it. I couldn’t be more pleased with a product. My only concern is the longevity of the Gecko. Even if it didn’t last, it would have cost me the price of the Gecko to have my glass professionally cleaned.

I hate to clean my windows. Especially at the kitchen where the sink is just in front of it. At the photo you can see the window that was washed by the Gecko and the dirty one. Sorry, it’s very dirty. I was not sure if I should rate 5 or 4 stars. It doesn’t clean perfect. There are some spots left at the edge but if you compare how it used to be, you definitely see the difference. Also, it’s pretty loud from my point of view but I can handle it. Our windows are not too big, so it cleans quickly. My husband noticed that if you spray a little bit at the window, Gecko spends more time at this spot trying to clean it up. Maybe there are sensors that checking the moist? I don’t know. So, for me, as a person who hates to clean the windows, it’s a very good solution. That’s why I give it 5*
