By way of full disclosure, we are using this primarily on hardwood and tile floors. Though it did reasonably well the one little room with a medium pile carpet. We bought this in full expectation of returning it because our need is challenging and the reviews were lackluster. We specifically got one of the smallest width ones because we wanted it to do under our dining room table and the chair rear legs have a narrow gap. I take the thing out of the box and find it is still and 1/8″ too wide. Argh! I figure this thing is going back. I charge it up and read the manual. It looks pretty impressive. I figure give a little try, if it doesn’t impress, clean it and return it. It heads out of the dock and works over to two dining room chairs backed up against a cabinet. It fiddles around a bit and finally works into the front of the chair and then proceeds to clean under both chairs and come out. I am thinking if I flip a chair up on the table at night it will get under the table and work fine.We have two major challenges that we want to solve with this thing. First, we suffered a rain/flood/mudslide doing $94K of damage to our home. We are in a constant construction zone with mud and gravel getting tracked in. It’s embarassing. I am tired of going to get a cookie at night and stepping on a sharp little rock. Second one of us is a world class quilter/knitter/spinner. We have fiber and thread everywhere! So we want it for that every night. How does it work? Some people say the robots bang into everything. Well maybe, but this one is pretty gentle about it. It does touch but gingerly. It almost knocked over a verticle standing umbrella against the wall, but it didn’t. While eating dinner it bumped my toes. The side brushes softly swirled over them, it touched and moved away. I sincerely doubt this could hurt any furniture or woodwork.I don’t know what the algorithm they use, but it is pretty good. It wiggles back and forth, spins and turns and goes right through gaps barely larger than it is. It moves semi-randomly. The deal is it pretty much covers the whole 800 sq ft area we are using it on three times on a charge. I did find one space with a narrow entry and getting larger turning counter clockwise can form a trap as can chairs set with a simular opening. It required a little changing of room and furniture spacing. Generally it needs an exit opening the size of a door to exit on any floor space 4 feet square or larger.I am becoming optomistic. I follow it around. It got almost everything. When it went by a storage tub that our daughter’s cat food got under it flipped out about 10 pieces, I figured game over. But no, it got all but one and caught that latter on. When I asked it to go back to the dock it fiddled around cleaning as it went. Finally it hadn’t sensed the base, so it stopped and spun around 360°, moved forward and did it again. Finally it got a beam on the dock and did a little wiggle step accross the floor to the base. When you hit spot clean it does a circle around the spot where it is working. It gets a 2 foot circle. As for cleaning. I would say it get 98% of the dirt and fiber. It does poorly over rough door mats and gaps in the floor. I ran for an hour and docked it so I could finish other tasks. Then I let it run a full clean. The pictures show the results. It has no problems with small rocks, probably 1/2″ long or less. It gets in all the fiber. The first pictures shows you how it packed the box. The second one is after removing the fiber leaving the rocks. It does an excellent job. At this point I am sold on it.Noise is an issue for some of you. We were stunned how quiet it is. I have never heard any vacuum, hand held or otherwise, that was this quiet. We are on the phone with our daughter telling her about it and she says, “I would be afraid to frighten my cat.” I said, “Can you hear it?” She said, “No.” It was working three feet from the phone. We had to hold the phone right over it for her to hear. It is noisier than our Bosch dishwasher at 45 db, quieter than our refrigerator ice maker, a little loader than the HVAC system and maybe half as loud as a sewing machine. It is so quiet we are going to schedule it for 3:00 AM every night and our bedroom door stays open.It worked fine in the dark. I guess the base homing could be better. Over all it was what QA people call, delighting the customer. Way above our expectations, and at this price a bargain. After two weeks you could not pay me to live without it. Clean floors every morning! We have created some narrow areas where it got trapped. Our soon to be replaced carpet turns out is shag carpet that is very matted. It started loosening it up and got one of the spinner brushes caught in it. We keep it out of there now. Long threads do wrap around the brush roll and have to be removed every few days.

I love this vacuum and highly recommend it. I will never vacuum by hand again. My floors are spotless! I have never owned a Roomba, but I read hundreds of different reviews on the brands before buying the Shark. Here’s what you need to know. The Shark is powerful and picks up dirt & dust you didn’t even know was there. It’s performance is probably similar to more expensive versions of the Roomba. Here’s a big difference though… The Shark is very quiet & can be in the same room and won’t interrupt TV watching or talking. It’s just a light background noise. It won’t annoy your pets, spouse or kids. I’ve read many reviews stating the noise is Roomba’s only downfall plus it’s way more expensive. Now here’s something else you should know… the low price of the Shark means it doesn’t have navigation. So it kind of wanders around unless you’re able to lock it in a room for a thorough cleaning. My thought process is that if you run it everyday it will get all the spots. But the cheapest version of Roomba with navigation is $700 versus the Shark without navigation around $300. I think you are getting a lot of value when buying the Shark because honestly the only difference in my opinion is the navigation between models plus Roomba is noisy. Shark rarely gets stuck and goes in and out of tight spots. He goes under furniture which is great if you’re like me and never move furniture to vacuum. My first floor is about 2600 square feet with a combo of hard floors & carpet. Shark does equally well on both. He seemlessly goes between rooms, over thresholds, vacuums bathroom throw rugs & vacuums up the cat liter that falls out of the cat box. Shark runs for at least 60 minutes, sometimes 75 minutes and always finds his way back to the dock to recharge. I highly recommend the Shark based on the price, quality of suction & vacuuming & quietness while it’s working. It truly is a workhorse and worth every penny. Three people have bought this same vacuum after I showed them how well it works. If you’re on the fence buy it & try it. Send it back if you don’t like it. But that’s not going to happen. This will change your life. It’s amazing, keeps your floors spotless & gives you back the gift of time. Buy it! (I paid full price for my vacuum so my review is completely my own opinion.) P.S. One picture is of the Shark in action. The second picture is the dirt bin after it vacuumed for an hour. You think your floors are already clean and spotless before you vacuum then you look in the dirt bin and wonder where did all that dirt come from!?

I was thinking about getting one of these, but didn’t want to spend the money on yet another vacuum cleaner; besides, I just couldn’t believe the little thing could handle a house with four cats and a sloppy homeowner. Then I broke my wrist. Then my big, upright Shark became hopelessly clogged up and I stuck it in the closet rather than take it for maintenance in these awful Corona Virus times. In despair, I checked Amazon and found this little Ion Shark for under $300. IT IS TERRIFIC: it picks up cat hair along with the occasional kibble pellet, transitions between hard floors and rugs, and is easy to clean and operate, although the dustbin does require emptying more often than the big clunker in the upright vacuum. Big Plus: hair and fabric strands don’t get balled up in its brush. My little Sharkie doesn’t have the suction of a regular big vacuum, but it does just fine for me, and it is fun to watch as it zips around the wary cats [at 74, my entertainment needs are simple].Good product. Convenient. Charge it, push a button, and watch it go!

I have had this for about 2 weeks and have yet to vacuum my carpets or sweep my wood floors, I have 2 shedding dogs and 2 young children. This robot has literally saved me hours of work. Seriously, I might actually LOVE it like it is my friend or something. I even caught myself saying “thank you” to it as it finished cleaning and docked itself. The other day I was cleaning house and it was cleaning alongside me, it was like having a cleaning partner. I really appreciate myself for investing in this and it was worth every penny. I thought about getting the wireless one but am glad I just went with the remote version. I rarely use the remote and usually hit the “clean” button right on the robot itself when I make coffee in the morning. I really want to name it, because it totally deserves a name! We start and end the day with clean floors around here at just the push of a button!I was concerned that it would get too full too fast, but this little thing can pack it away. The brushes actually do a pretty good job of getting into corners. I am a huge fan of Shark products… I own a stand up vacuum and one of their steam mops. I will probably never buy from another brand again. Thanks for making my life so much easier Shark!

I bought a roomba almost 10 years ago when they were first coming out thinking about how amazing it would be to have a robot clean for me.It hardly cleaned. It didnt do well on short rugs let alone any normal rugs, and it wouldnt even find its way back to the docking station, I used it maybe three times before giving up.10 years go by and I see the shark ion robot on sale elsewhere. I decided ya know what. I got some bitcoin to spend lets try it out again, I got it here cause amazon shipping was faster.WOWAmazing how the tech has been upgraded in 10 years. This robot actually cleans! I mean it REALLY cleans. It cleans the carpet in my entire apartment better than my pull out vacuum. My girlfriend leaves hair in places and the old vacuum didnt do crap. This thing actually got all the hair off the floor (I had to cut it out of the brushes after each use) but it got rid of it! It also cleaned the floor so much, every pass through I would see the dirt tray fill up with dust and crap. I cannot believe it was pulling that crap out of the carpet!I have hardwood kitchen floors and it does just as you expect under the cabinets. Amazing! It is able to transition from carpet to wood floors and back just fine, the wheels can handle climing up the 1/2inch rise just fine.I have internet cables laying on the floor that it either pushes or climbs over, however I ended up raising them up just in case for the future.best of all, it automatically finds its docking station and goes there to recharge, no need to help it along or anything!I am in love with this thing, so far its out performing my little push vacuum by miles. Well worth the money after one cleaning. Cant wait to try it in the bedroom next.

Oh my gosh, this is literally the best thing I’ve ever bought! I keep saying this to my husband!!!! I’m so glad I took the leap!I almost never write reviews, but I’m so in love I just had to share.First, we live in an almost 1900 sq ft house that is ALL wood floors! Besides rugs of course. We have a 16 month old and 2 big, hairy dogs. Keeping up with the floors is nearly impossible, and stresses me out!I wanted to be sure to really see how this thing would work so I spent hours yesterday getting my floors probably cleaner than they’ve even been in the 2.5 years living here. I have a Dyson (which I love) that I usedfirst to do a very thorough job. Then I used a manual little dust mop thing I have, then my steam mop, then literally on my hands and knees through the entire house! I waited a couple hours until there was already some dog hair and crumbs around the kitchen, I also put some pieces of rice around randomly so I could see if the shark went everywhere. We used the strips to keep it in our large living/dining room, kitchen, entry way with small hall, and 2nd dining room. A pretty large space, but what I would love for it to be able to keep up through the week, so this is how I wanted to test it.It ran for exactly 1 hour and 11 minutes and seemed to hit every area very well. It picked up all my random rice. I couldn’t wait to see all that it had picked up, so I pulled out the bin (which is so easy and nice to remove) and almost died! Seriously a bunch of hair, dust, crumbs, and all the rice. See pictures. Mind blown! This thing is incredible!!!If you’re thinking about it, don’t wait another minute, order it!!!!!Also, I had a hard time finding info on the difference between the 2 models, I finally found a page that spelled it out, and the 2 units are essentially identical just one comes with a remote for programming, and the 750 model uses your phone and wifi. That was definitely not worth the eextra $50 to me so I went with the 720.This is going to change my life! Worth every penny! Hope this helps someone.

I bought this to replace my knock off I-Life robot that died after a year. Was a little leery at first bc it seemed that it was just randomly going around and missing a lot of stuff. It goes in a zig-zag pattern and while I do see it go back into the same spot a few minutes later, It does seem to pick up things really well. It is a little bigger than my I-Life so it doesn’t fit under my couch which is good and bad. Good bc I don’t have to dig it out when it gets stuck like my old one, but bad bc that’s where the dust bunny accumulate. I have set the automatic timer to clean when I am not home, but it doesn’t appear to be working (could be a user error) but I haven’t taken the time to look into it to resolve it. I do like that it doesn’t appear to get held up on things like my old one which would get stuck on rugs, base boards (I know right? Like how?), and dog toys. The brushes snap on and off which I love since the old one you needed a screw driver. One con is that the dust bin doesn’t seem to be as large as my old one and that’s a little annoying but nothing I cant deal with. It is quieter, but still a vacuum which you can always hear. I-Robot Roomba has been around for a lot longer and have worked out most of their kinks and complaints from what I have researched and has been around a lot longer than Shark (at least for the robot version), but who has $700 for a vacuum cleaner? I have always loved the Shark for their stand-up vacuums so knew I couldn’t go wrong with this purchase.

I’ve had this for about two months now. I have it run daily because I have a dog. I have a mix of hard wood, tile and shag area rugs. The vacuum is great. I’m mildly OCD and It does exactly what I need it to do, pick up the dog hair. The shark moves from tile to hard wood with ease and even get on the shag area rugs. Sometimes it will get stuck on the area rugs but it beeps to let me know that it needs to be moved, so that’s not really a big deal. The dirt container is easy to remove and empty.I searched for months for the right vacuum to get. I decided on a shark because it was half the price of a roomba. I decided on this model over the Alexa model because of the negative reviews about the wireless connection dropping. While I would love to tell Alexa to clean my house, this vacuum comes with a remote so I can just press a button and it works. While this isn’t a substitute for cleaning the house, it meets the needs for day to day pick up. It goes under the couch with ease. The only weird thing about it, which I knew before I bought it because of the other reviews, is that it doesn’t make sense on how it cleans. It’s not a straight line. It’s almost like you’re driving home and decide to take the more scenic route. While it may take longer, it gets the job done and you reach your final destination.Honestly, I can’t remember life before this. I hope it never dies.

I waited to write my review because I knew it would be getting a workout! I have several cats which means multiple litter boxes and several dogs. Can you say hair?I love it! I had read the reviews about cleaning it so was worried about that, but it is pretty simple and I just tell myself that if I didn’t have all these animals, I would not have as much hair and litter to pull out of the teeth or unroll from the roller. If I was a better housekeeper, yahta, yahta, yahta. I think of it as therapuetic. The compartment holds more than I thought it would so now I just clean it when I use it and I am good. I think it does better on carpet than a solid floor when it comes to picking up the litter. It stopped working on me after a couple of months so I called customer service. It was a quick easy fix, there was a lot of hair in the middle dealybob and it was causing the sensors to basically shut down. No hair has accumulated there since which tells me I am keeping the house cleaner.Improvements I would like to see is the on/off switch on top and some kind of strap to carry it with when I pick it up to clean it. It has also been dropped a couple of times and doesn’t seem to have fazed it.Do I use my regular vacuum? Yes, but not on the floors that have carpet. And if I didn’t have litter, I would use it even less.

I absolutely love my Ion Robot. I bought the 750 first Really liked it but never hooked it up to the wifi. I have to clean it and so no effort to turn on . loved it so much that I purchased a second one the 720 this time. I have never had my house so clean. I can’t set it up to run because every once in awhile it gets stuck under the corner of the furniture so have to d a re.scue. I have 3200 square feet and multi levels so that is why the second one.my floors are hardwood and small scatter rugs. it cleans all. We have 1 long hair cat and 2 dogs. every other day I run the ions and empty the dirt box every time with fine dirt and animal hair. I love the way it gets against the baseboard. I simply pick up a few small things sitting around. Sometimes while it is running I move a few thins for more cleaning. I turn one on in the morning in a room we don’t use much while we are gone. Let it charge about 3 hrs when I get home I move to another room. NO problem with steps . Maude as we named her just goes to the edge and backs up. We have furniture in the middle of the floor she vacuums behimd there and all around Takes about 1 15 min and 3 hrs charging all While I watch.
