nicely packaged. i found it easy to use and understand. you either steam things or cook. it’s a trial and error thing. quality made. easy to clean. i put 5 potatoes in whole, filled the reservior with water and hit steam then you use the plus or minus to put time , i put 40 min. the potatoes were perfect. then later i cut up a small head of cabbage and some hot dogs and (always fill reservoir ) i hit the steam button and put 35 min. it had a very very slight crunch which i was just fine with , you can add more minutes if you want to. i will post more pics later. tomorrow i am going to try Spaghetti squash. people have to understand this is not a pressure cooker and i have seen the videos on youtube that this takes longer to cook than a pressure cooker but i have one and when you think about it ,in a pressure cooker you put stuff in and have to wait on the pressure to build up then the time to cook then the pressure to drop so really this cooker is not to different in time.. and it’s sooo quiet that i was doing other stuff and the time flew by and it was cooked..will post more later as i cook. the price was awesome compared to ebay price.

I bought this because of the stainless steel vessel, single pot cook and serve, and low price. So far (3weeks) it has surprises in all the Indian style cooking we have done with this cooker.

This is a rice cooker/slow cooker/steamer. It measures 11.5” tall, 6.5” wide, and 14” deep. With the front arm up for loading, it needs 15” of height for clearance. The bowl removeable bowl is made of stainless steel and has no non-stick coatings. The device has a unique cooking method that injects steam deep into the cooking bowl and also heats the entire bowl with induction. Controls for the cooker are on the top, with express buttons for power on/off, steam, and reheat. There are programs for stew, soup, cake, pork, rice, vegetable, multi-grains, porridge, beans, risotto, and slow cook. You can also program a delayed start. The pot needs to be hand-washed; it cannot be cleaned in a dishwasher. It also has a self-cleaning cycle that can be used to clean out the steam rod. The pot can be used to store leftovers in the refrigerator and then reheat, still in the pot. Included with the pot are a steamer insert, a rice paddle, a measuring cup, and a recipe booklet.I am delighted with this new mode of cooking. Since the pot uses mainly steam and some induction heating to cook, it produces no acrylamides. Acrylamides are tasty but cancer-causing chemicals that are created whenever you brown food, whether by frying, baking, or roasting. To avoid acrylamides, you need to cook food by boiling or steaming, which is exactly what this pot does. To use the pot, you put your food in the bowl, adding a lot less water than usual, then fill the reservoir on the side with water. The device heats the water into steam, and then steams your food with it. Steaming vegetables is a cinch with this pot—just put them on the steaming rack inside the pot, fill the water reservoir, and go. No worries about running out of water and burning your steamed vegetables here! For rice, porridge, and soups, it helps to follow the recipes in the booklet, at least at first. It takes some experimentation to figure out how much water you need to add to the pot itself and how much to the water reservoir to get the results you want. With a little bit of practice, it starts to become second nature. I really like that the pot is stainless steel with no non-stick coatings. Overall, this pot is a great addition to any kitchen, easy to use (with practice), and healthier than air-frying or stir-frying.

The media could not be loaded. The idea of this is interesting, it uses pressurized steam and induction to cook food and in my opinion it does a decent job a it.I decided to try the first recipe in the little book they provided but tweaked it a bit. I added 2.5 cups of beans, no extra water and didn’t fill the water tank to the max (1inch under the max line), my hope being that the soup wouldn’t have too much liquid in it.The food came out cooked well, a few of the beans were a bit crunchier than expected but that might be because I used pinto beans instead of black beans. They were soaked for about 10 hours as recommended. The food tasted ok, a little bit ironey in my opinion but the wife didn’t think so. That might have been caused by the fact that I crisped up the bacon in an iron skillet and used all of the grease in the recipe (not just the 1 spoon they recommend). The 1st thing I did after plugging this into the wall outlet was running a self cleaning cycle for 30 minutes to get rid of the rubbery plastic smell it emanated. I ran the cycle 2 times and almost got to no more funky smells. My recipe could feed 3 to 4 people, the one in the book would probably only feed 2. All of the recipes look like they’re meant for feeding 2.Overall I am happy with this, it’s versatile and easy to use. I like that I don’t have to stir things once it gets going and the ease of storing/reheating in the same container makes it very convenient when you’re in a hurry. This would be great for an RV as well, it only pulls 1000w peak and doesn’t need babysitting once it gets going.

One of my weaknesses is cool, new kitchen gadgets and appliances, so when this popped up, I had to give it a try. I didn’t have anything specific in mind to use it for.The recipe book is just a tiny pamphlet, but most people who are into cooking don’t need a recipe book with a slow cooker/steamer/rice cooker anyway. The one thing I did find in the recipe booklet that was interesting was a recipe for marble cake. It would have never otherwise occurred to me to bake a cake in this, so that was helpful. The cake was fun and came out great. It was the first thing I used this for.Since this appliance does rice perfectly, I’ll probably put my rice cooker in a box of donations, as I don’t need two appliances that do the same thing. While I do have a large slow cooker, this one is nice when I want to make a smaller meal. Not everyone in my family eats the same things, and my larger one doesn’t always do the best job with smaller amounts.Really, though, where this appliance really shines is steaming. I love to steam cook, and usually have to put a bit of effort into getting things evenly steamed on the stove, or in other steamers. This one is like a steamer on steroids. Everything you put in it will come out perfect and consistent every single time. This is the function that earned it a place on my countertop.I also feel safer steaming in this with my grandchildren around, as the lid locks closed, and it’s a secure appliance.

What attracted me to the Chefe was the size and hoping it would help me cook less since we are now a family of just two. I loved the design and ease of cleaning the bowl, that you can store, reheat and serve out of the bowl. However, I found the instructions rather lacking on even basic cooking items. I tested the Chefe by making one cup of basmati rice. The only recipe I found was for brown rice so I ended up following my instinct on this. I added 1:1 ratio of rice because I figured since it uses steam to basically cook, the rice would be ok. It turned out good and only took 40 minutes. Now could I have made it on the stovetop in less time, sure but I was making other food on there so this eased my mind from having to fuss over later adding the butter and parsley to it.Looking over the recipes for meat, my only observation is that you’ll have to brown and season your meat prior to making either the stews or pork. But I normally do that in my Dutch oven anyway when using my instant pot or oven. I am looking forward to trying out so more recipes but I really think you’ll have to either experiment some or like I did and follow your chef instinct on cooking food.Overall, for the price point, it’s a bit expensive compared to instant pots and air fryers nowadays. Lacks instructions on when to properly use the steam bar and needs more recipes. But if you like gadgets, this is a nice one to have and since it cooks with steam, a bit more on the healthier of cooking.

This device is great, from my perspective, its like a rice cooker, crock pot, and oven (the cake feature) all in one nice futuristic looking pressure cooker. the included recipe book also made me aware of the other recipes i would not have thought to try with this such as a marble bundt shaped cake, and pudding.I use this primarily as a rice cooker but have been trying the included and other possible sweet recipes. The removable pot is a great feature as with rice i often have leftovers after cooking for the family and having the pot makes it easier to store in a safe manner, as well as reheat the following day or meal.I love this device as it pushed the tiny rice cooker, and medium crock pot i had “off of the counter” so to speak.
