I have only had these for 2 days, so can’t review the longevity, but the devices seem like great quality and the setup was so simple. The app took no time to get from the app store (android). The signup was simple and only took an email address and PW ,then a verification code (-1 minute). I ordered 3 SwitchBot plugs and had them all plugged in and monitoring, with power on and off schedules in less than 20 minutes for all.PLUG 1. In our entertainment area, we have a 65in big screen, with a full size PC (mini KB/mouse) and audio all plugged into a power strip that plugs into one SwitchBot jack. I set several schedules to automatically power on in the early evening (just before we get home or are around to watch shows or surf), and then power off later every night.PLUG2. We have an attic fan that pulls air from the garage into the attic to vent/force both to the outside. The fan is a modern and powerful fan, but a big draw on power (want to monitor that). I set it to turn on in the late morning and off at 10 pm (fan has a thermostat, but I wanted to have it run for set times too).PLUG 3. The last one is hooked up to an extra frig/freezer in the garage just to monitor power consumption.I am not too knowledgeable about electricity, but want to monitor the power consumption info and figure out what it all means in the app. It gives real time KW, amp and volt readings, and exportable historical data. So far I am very impressed and highly recommend. A total bargain for these and what you get. I am exited to look at some of the other SwitchBot products.

I wanted to know my home office power use. I plugged it into the wall and then into a power strip. The setup was pretty easy: your phone is the interface and the app is pretty decent. It gives you the (I think) instantaneous power draw (maybe 1-minute resolution), in “kilowatts”. I somehow believed that you could have the app collect a time series of readings; it didn’t for me, though the description implied it. At one point I had to power cycle something, the device announced a circuit fault and stopped working. Unplugging and replugging didn’t reset it. Right now I left it sitting around to see if it maybe drains and wakes up.So I like the gadget, but I’m not yet sure it’s a good product.

This smart plug is simple, reliable, and just works! I use it with my 75W desk heating rug. Sometimes it stays on for many hours and never fails. The app is easy to use and very functional. I will definitely order more in the future.

I’ve owned 49 of these SwitchBot plugs since they were released just over a month ago. I also own dozens of plugs from various manufacturers, like TP-Link, Sonoff, BN-Link, Emporia, etc. These plugs are, by far, my favorite. I have one plugged into just about every outlet in my house, where reasonable. Here’s some of my key highlights that differentiate these plugs from all the junk online:- The build quality is outstanding. There are no seams or otherwise weird manufacturing quirks on any of my plugs. While aesthetics of a smart plug aren’t particularly important, I wouldn’t be comfortable trusting a no-name brand plug with a poor exterior to have safe internals. SwitchBot really surprised me with the quality as soon as I picked up my first plug, and I was happy to find no defects on any of my 50.- They work cloud-free, if necessary. Many of the plugs on Amazon rely on their proprietary app and proprietary online API, rendering the plugs entirely useless if their company no longer supports them. After setting up these plugs, they continue to work without internet directly over Bluetooth, with few functional compromises. Although most smart plugs on the market are currently ESP based (which is an IoT Bluetooth/WiFi module), many of them only utilize the WiFi features after setup. SwitchBot ensured the longevity of their product by allowing it to work in-app over Bluetooth.- They’re accurate out of the box. In my lab, I was able to measure each plug’s reported metrics with a calibrated test load and against a calibrated power meter. I found the device itself to consume 0.6-0.9 W on average, and measure the calibrated load accurately down to a tenth of a Watt. Extremely good quality, considering some plugs off Amazon measure 5-10 watts off, out of the box. Some stuff for the advanced users: these work great with Tasmota, allowing you to utilize Home Assistant / whatever setup your smart home already uses, finetune the calibration, disable the toggle button, disable the bluetooth, etc.All in all, SwitchBot took the existing smart plug market and designed a plug that outperforms the competitors at a price point that blows them out of the water. They work amazingly out of the box and can also be better tweaked with third party software like Tasmota.

I have kasa smart plug for a while and they work perfect in house for on/off switch. But I can not use it in my car where there is no wifi. Switchbot could work with my phone APP outdoor without wifi as it has Bluetooth connection. That is the killer. I now can control my in car charging system to charge my big batteries when I am driving. And I can monitor the charge power to determine the phase of the charging processes. excellent replacement of my old school “kill a watt” and it is wireless…

This is one of my favorite purchases! You can set this to turn anything on and off in an instant and even set a schedule for everyday use! Very versatile for any application in your home.

Bought these for multiple places in my house because we were going out of town for the week and still use them now. They are super easy to control with your phone and they work every time. Very happy with his product!

I got these to turn on a light in my bedroom at a certain time because I work overnights and my room is dark (I use blackout curtains) when I need to wake up. It definitely helps!!I already had the app because I have the automatic curtain open/closers from the same brand. I already knew how to set it up bc of that but the app is super user friendly for anyone using it for the first time!

This plug works exactly as described in that you can both turn the outlet on and off via app through wifi or Bluetooth, and through wifi using your preferred smart assistant (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc). The other fearure, which I was even more interested in, is the ability to detect and record the power usage of what is plugged into it. Unfortunately, the one I received was able to turn on and off remotely, but it would not detect power usage. I contacted customer service, and after getting information from me about the situation, their techs decided the power detection component was faulty and sent me a new unit. The new one has worked perfectly for over a week now, and I have found the power usage detection very useful.
