I’ve used other smart locks and this one blows them out of the water! Installation was a breeze. Instructions very clear and took roughly 10 minutes. The app is nice, finger print works every time, and the buttons are tactile and easily pressed. Amazing product at an affordable price!

As a homeowner seeking a reliable and convenient smart lock, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the Wyze Lock. This Bluetooth and wireless-enabled lock has provided me with a sense of security that surpasses my previous Kwikset lock, and it comes at a much more attractive price point.First and foremost, the installation of the Wyze Lock was a breeze. It easily integrated with my existing deadbolt, and the setup process was straightforward, thanks to the user-friendly instructions and the Wyze app. Within minutes, I had the lock up and running, ready to experience its magic. The auto-locking feature is a game-changer for me. No more worrying if I remembered to lock the door when I’m rushing out or struggling to find my keys in the dark. With Wyze Lock’s Bluetooth and wireless capabilities, it automatically locks the door behind me once I’m out of range. This hands-free convenience has given me peace of mind, knowing that my home is secure even when I’m in a hurry. In terms of security, the Wyze Lock has proven to be highly reliable. The encryption and authentication protocols employed by the lock ensure that unauthorized access is virtually impossible. Additionally, the Wyze app keeps me informed about the lock’s status, sending real-time notifications whenever the door is locked or unlocked. It’s a great way to stay connected with my home’s security, even when I’m away.Comparing the Wyze Lock to my previous Kwikset lock, I must say, Wyze outperforms it in every way. The responsiveness of the auto-locking, the ease of integration with my smart home ecosystem, and the overall build quality make the Wyze Lock a clear winner. And all of this at a better price? It’s truly an unbeatable combination! What sets Wyze apart is their dedication to continuous improvement through firmware updates. The company frequently releases updates to enhance performance and introduce new features, making the lock even smarter and more efficient over time.In conclusion, the Wyze Lock is a smart, secure, and affordable solution for anyone looking to upgrade their home security. Its Bluetooth and wireless auto-locking capabilities have made my life more convenient and my home safer. With its competitive price and superior performance compared to other brands, I can confidently recommend the Wyze Lock to all homeowners seeking a reliable smart lock. Wyze has won me over as a loyal customer, and I’m excited to see what other innovative products they bring to the market.

Super easy to install, was done in 15 to 20 minutes.Fingerprint reader is superfast, to the point that it is too fast sometimes and will try to read your partial finger before you have had a chance to get your finger on fully. Easy enough to solve if you learn to grab either side of the lock with your thumb and middle finger and then use your index finger to scan, get really reliable placement every single time.Has made it a lot easier to get in and out of our garage while also keeping it locked and secure.

This is one of the few fingerprint locks with NO keyslot, and that’s a GOOD thing!A few years ago I hired a locksmith to get me back into the house I had just just purchased the day before. (The previous owner left all the keys but I hadn’t yet added them to my keyring or “hidden” a key.) That’s when I learned what a bump key is, and it’s a chilling bit of information. Check online videos for “bump key” and you’ll be shocked. In short, it’s ridiculously easy to break into almost any commonly-available keyed lock in less than a second. That’s what the locksmith did, and he didn’t even need a special tool.My house came with a Kwikset Powerbolt 907, which has an electronic keypad for a combination, and it has a keyslot as an alternative. I liked the combination feature, (although it kinda took an extra 2 seconds) but it always bothered me that a thief could get in so easily like the locksmith did. The combination didn’t matter, and neither did the cut of the key. With this, I know that not even a locksmith could open it without being destructive. And I don’t need a full “smart lock” — Why would I, when I always have my right thumb with me?The things you think you need from WiFi are unnecessary. If necessary I can always give someone a temporary combination on-the-spot using the app. This is possible without WiFi because the combinations are based on the current date and time, so it requires no connection. Also, it automatically locks a set amount of time after being unlocked… I chose 5 minutes but it could also be 15, 30, or 60 seconds. (I wanted time to unload groceries.)Installation was easy. The fingerprint sensor is quick, and the deadbolt moves quickly. You touch the sensor, hear the beep, and by the time your hand has moved to the doorknob and turned it, the deadbolt is already retracted. Nice.Small issue which you can work around: If you use it exactly as-directed, your fingerprint may occasionally fail to be recognized. It only allows 8 “samples” to be taken of a given finger. To make it recognize my fingerprint more consistently, I program it with my thumb extended to the left with 8 samples, then I tell it I’m going to program another finger, but instead I use my thumb again, at more angles. Essentially this way it’s comparing 16 samples of a given finger. You can actually take it further because you can program a whole family’s many fingers. You’re only going to use your thumb or maybe your index finger, so I found it works better this way. (And I don’t get false-positives from un-sampled fingers.)

We’ve had this lock for a year now and it has performed without issue. My only complaint is that the fingerprint reader isn’t amazing (though it is quick). Won’t work at all for our little kids’ fingers and I often have to try a couple of orientations to get it to work. Lock connects easily to the Wyze app on bluetooth and it is quick to enter additional codes and activate or deactivate people (for example, my mom has her own code that I can reactivate whenever she comes to visit). Also allows scheduling, so I can set up a code for a repair person and only allow them to enter during a designated time. We also really like the auto-lock feature since our kids always forget to lock the door on the way out.Installation was easy even for me, who isn’t mechanically inclined. Batteries have lasted a year with no issues even though my kids play with the lock constantly. We’ve had other Wyze products in the past and they have always been excellent value. Maybe not the top product on the market, but great for the price.

Works flawlessly with the all, and I am very impressed with how quickly the fingerprint works every time. Easy to program, easy to install, all around quality product. Similar quality bolts cost the same but without the smart functions.

I really like the lock. It’s small footprint, easy to install, fast fingerprint readings and it’s features. However, it get stuck even when I have the door opened and manually open and close the lock. It can be very frustrating! I would still recommend but I will also mention the occasional jamming of the lock02/28/23 I’ve now upgraded this review to 5 stars thanks to the good customer service at Wyze. After contacting them, and explaining the issue, they sent me a replacement within three days. Subsequently I found that the bolt was scraping against the attached plate whenever the door is pushed to open before opening the lock. I simply swapped out the bolt mechanism and now it’s working flawlessly. My two favorite features are fingerprint reader and auto lock. My family including myself tend to leave the door unlocked after we enter but no worries now Wyze takes care of that. I set mine to lock after 5 mins. Love it! Love Wyze products and customer service

What I mean about the Bluetooth is this- and it’s just a hunch- but I think it might explain the hiccups I had:After installing this as a replacement in a door that already had a deadbolt , the bolt lock worked perfectly for a day or so, until I decided to get fancy and put my 5 year old Galaxy Tablet into the mix. As soon as I tried to use the tablet to control the lock, the Bluetooth connection became intermittent at best and then quit working entirely. I could still get in with the fingerprints and code I had put in, but with no Bluetooth connection I could no longer communicate with the lock. I deleted the app from the tablet and then started over from scratch with the lock. This meant that I had to reenter the code and fingerprints. I decided that trying to control the lock from an ancient Samsung tablet with no data connection and outdated Bluetooth isn’t such a great idea.I really like this lock so far. And for me, the possibility of getting locked out of my garage because the lock has no mechanical key is nothing to worry aboutwhen compared to the very real possibilty that using a deadbolt with a mechanical backup key would expose me to some dweeb (with a bump key he got off eBay ) who could easily, quickly and quietly get into my garage undetected and with virtually no effort. (I have a separate keypad for my door opener which also has a battery backup) . As for my house, having another one of these dead bolts on a second door would likely end any rational fears about getting locked out and would provide more assurance against keybumpers and lock pickers. I just saw that they have a brushed nickel version, so one of those is soon going to be on the front door. I was able to solve the Bluetooth problems I was having with this lock by going to the gear icon on my Android phone’s home screen, finding settings/system/advanced/Bluetooth options. Then resetting Bluetooth. Like magic, my connection to the WYZE Lock started working again and I didn’t have to mess with the lock.Edit- my problems with the Bluetooth are cured. It was operator error, I think. I started minimizing the app on my phone, then swiping it away- every time I check it. No more minimizing the window and then forgetting about it . That practice must have been source of my initial Bluetooth connectivity problem. It would have been great if that had been mentioned somewhere as being a potential problem instead of finding it out on my own. As far as using the old tablet to control the lock, I decided that that could also have causedthe problem of leaving the Bluetooth “on”, so I’m not going to use the old Galaxy Tablet anymore.

This product is fantastic. All you have to do is walk up to the Door and press your finger against the top of the lock and the door opens. When it’s inclement weather, you have to punch the code every now and then but it’s a very very convenient addition. Being able to lock your door or confirm that you’ve locked your door using your phone is downright cool.
