This insant pot has become one of our most used kitchen appliances. It is easy to clean. It cooks fast and delicious foods. It does seem that some foods require more seasoning than usual to get the same flavor as cooking in other methods. Overall very good product that does what several other products would do.

This is the most effective way to cook anything like anything.. if your if we can cook stuff like Indian food then yes you can cook that too .The most amazing feature I liked about this is how fast I can make things from rice to chicken soup or just to even sauté or to just soften the chicken completely it’s easy and fast …I can make jasmine rice in this instant pot within 7 mins .. comes out perfect without sticking or breaking perfect . I would recommend this to anyone. You can just pop that cook pot in the dishwasher as well ( not the machine )

Have used this 9-in-one cooker aboard a live-aboard trawler for over a year. Noromally a multiple-use product does one thing well and not others? This Instant Pot does everything well. It is a pressure cooker, crockpot, sous vide, yogurt, rice, sterilizer, cake, and steamer. The only feature not used (yet) is the yogurt setting, but the rest of the settings work extremely well….with impressive results. The support for recipes and use online is also impressive. If you need a perfect meal in thirty minutes while using minimal electricity, this is perfect. This recommendation was passed along by another live-aboard boater. Forgot to defrost meat for a recipe? No worries, defrost enough to separate the meat from the packaging and place in the intant pot. The crock pot setting has 92 hour range which is awesome for bone broth. (We did not opt for the air fryer model, due to our own galley storage and height limitations). The interior pot acts like a 316 stainless steel which performs evenly, does not develop hotspots or burn marks, and cleans easily to brand new condition every time.Con: Short cord. Would love to park the instant pot directly into the sink for stability while we are underway, but the cord is not long enough. This pot is actively used while underway to take advantage of the electricity and to have a meal ready when ready to anchor for the day. Hoever, there have been no problems or issues with slipping, tipping or bouncing off the counter. It’s heavy and stable with great friction on the bottom … again, after 1 year 2 months, so far so good.

I had an older pressure cooker that was recalled. I also had a separate air fryer. It’s really nice to have one thing that does both so I could condense to one appliance that does double duty. It does a really good job pressure cooking, but I was hesitant on its ability to air fry. This did a great job. I was able to use the accessories and create two layers in the air fryer to cook more than I was able to do in my original air fryer.I admit that I had originally ordered a Ninja that was supposed to do double duty like this, but the Instapot brand was quite a bit cheaper and the Ninja wasn’t able to be delivered for some reason. Glad I saved some money and got this brand instead. Does what I need and I saved a little bit of money.

I was always pretty anti-kitchen gadgets. The InstantPot seemed like just another thing that did stuff I could already do on my stove or oven. Boy, was I wrong.I honestly am in disbelief how much I love using this thing. It is so versatile that I use it more than anything else in my kitchen, except maybe the sink. The reasons why? Well, for starters it’s super easy to clean. Instead of making a mess with multiple pans and pots and lids with food stuff splattering everywhere, the InstantPot is one thing that’s fully contained. When the timer ends I take out the food, clean the pot, and wipe down the lid and little “gutter” and that’s it. Two, it’s so FAST! Now, granted some things will feel like they take the same or similar amount of time when pressure cooking because the machine has to build pressure. BUT, the difference is that I can set this and LEAVE! When it’s ready it beeps and I can choose to keep the food warm or have it stop cooking when the timer is done. What really sold me on finally purchasing this is the air fryer attachment. I’ve been wanting an air fryer so this was much cheaper than buying everything separately. I will say that while I do love the air fryer it’s probably not the best on the market. When using a two-tiered basket, whatever is in the top portion *will* be more cooked than the bottom. This is a problem I will try to fix by simply removing the top portion when it’s cooked and letting the bottom cook longer until it’s done. Not ideal, but for delicious air fried food ans the convenience of having these capabilities from one machine at this price, I’ll make do.I recommend purchasing an InstantPot cookbook to accompany this. It will help acquaint you to how this machine can be used, even if the cookbook is more oriented towards one of the models without the air fryer. What do I use this for? So far I’ve made vegan chana masala (yum!), vegan banana bread (yum!), air fried Brussels sprouts (yum!), truffle fries (you get the idea). I’ve also used this to steam food to make dog food for my pup with allergies. One of my favorite things to use this for is dry goods!! I will dump a whole bag of dry beans or quinoa or whatever in the pot, add spices, water, set it, and it’s done to perfection so quickly! I’ll then can everything and freeze it so I have beans and quinoa on hand all the time whenever I need them for a meal! It’s the best! Not to mention the pressure cooker seems to really INFUSE whatever you’re cooking with the spices you choose. The beans I’ve made with this I’ve eaten plain they were so so tasty!I live with roommates but this has been the best purchase ever. I’m lucky to have the room to store it, but it’s also great because they can cook on the stove or in the oven if they want, and I have everything I need right in this InstantPot so no one has to wait on anyone to clear out before they can do their own thing.Things I wish it did differently:- I wish the display showed seconds. Minor inconvenience but the display in general makes it feel cheap.- I wish the display showed what setting it was on and what action it was currently doing. For example, a small icon for “pressure cooking” so you can remember that you chose the correct setting. Or a little icon that showed it was building pressure so you don’t think you didn’t hit “start” or something before waking away. Also, something that showed the current temperature inside instead of what you set it to so you know how things are cooking or heating up/cooling down.- A persistant beep every minute or so when food is finished cooking.

I got this as I’ve needed something bigger than the 4 qt Instant Pot Ultra I’ve been using. From my experience, Instant Pot gives the best user experience for pressure cookers, and there’s lots of others who have them so finding advice online on how to do things is pretty easy.I primarily use mine to cook rice, though I’ve found just adding the rice and pressure cooking on High gives me better results than the rice settings.I don’t know if the “Whisper Quiet” seems significantly quieter than my ultra, which had the original “push to vent” venting knob. I do, however, think it seems much cleaner, and the switch to vent stays in place much better than the button did on my old instant pot. The one I got came with an extra gasket, so there was two (one red and one clear). The stainless steel inside is super easy to clean, but I’ve always found the lid and gasket tricky to clean up.Instant Pots eased me in to using pressure cookers, which I’ve found to be extremely useful in the kitchen, It’s a shame I spent the first 25 years of my life afraid of them 🙂

My son has the larger version of this and uses it almost every day (but he’s a vegetarian). It looked good to me so I got the smaller one as I don’t need to consume massive amounts of plant material each day. Once you have used it once or twice you will really fall in love with it. In the month or so I’ve had it I’ve used it at least once per week. I’m not that good a cook and don’t follow recipes well but with this you really can’t mess up. It may be possible to overcook something but I haven’t been able to do it. I say get one.

After setting everything up, I ran the test cycle. Steam kept coming out of the top vent, and the unit never got past the preheating stage. I watched a bunch of videos to see what I could be doing wrong. Long story short, one video showed the unique design of the “whisper quiet” vent on the top. They popped the small cover off to show the vents inside. I had no idea that cover could be removed. When I opened it up, I found a wet, mangled sticker that read, “Remove before using.” I double-checked the manual, and nowhere did it say to open that little panel to remove the hidden sticker! Once I did that, the unit worked great. So, if you buy this – and I do recommend the product – be sure to pop that whisper vent off and remove the sticker first.
